南アフリカが誇るカリスマ・ディープハウスDJブラック・コーヒー。
彼がこのたびアメリカのBET（ブラック・エンターテインメント・テレビジョン）が主催するアフリカ系アメリカ人／マイノリティの文化賞「BET Awards」で最優秀インターナショナルアクトのアフリカ系部門（best international act Africa）を受賞した。

ブラック・コーヒーはMixmag誌が発表しているトップ10DJs of 2015にて3位にランクイン。

13歳のころに左手の自由を失いながらも2003年にRed Bull Music Academyの南アフリカ代表として世界を股にかけ活躍。

2010年には60時間のロングセットを披露し、片腕での最長DJプレイのギネス記録を樹立。

2015年に発表されたイビサのDJアワードでは、BREAKTHROUGHアーティストに選ばれた。

「BET Awards」受賞に伴い、彼はInstagramでコメントを発表。
